It’s official…I leave for launch on September 5th!! It’s crazy to think in a short 5 weeks I will be heading off to Atlanta, GA to embark on a crazy new adventure with Christ. After training camp I can honestly say that I am way more excited about going for 11 months and I already miss the heck out of my squad. I’m so ready but then I think “wait I still have about a month before I leave.”
With this month what God is teaching me , rght now, is to remain present in my current mission. Yes, there are exciting things to come but right now God is moving in big ways. He is teaching me to not lose sight of what’s in front of me by focusing on what’s to come. So with these next few weeks I am choosing to enjoy the late night hang outs with friends, the dinners with family, relaxing by the pool, helping with conflict between friends, enjoying the journey of fundraising and listening to what God has for me each and every day. Yes, it’s hard because I am eagerly ready to love on a littles one I will encounter and/or be a friend to the broken but God is reminding me that he is using me to be those things here and now. No matter where life takes me God is going to use me to be on mission for him.
Yes, I am excited to go but I am not going to rush it. I don’t want to look back and be upset about the things I missed while overly preparing myself for the race. God has me where he wants me and he will equip me where ever he decides to lead me.
With that being said AHHHHHHH!! I have 36 more days to enjoy the weirdness of my closest friends, the taste of Whataburger, the hugs from my family, the comfort of my bed, and the memories to come from being fully present.
I know now without a doubt that I am suppose to be going on this journey so I want to thank everyone who believes in me and has contributed to my journey, so far. You have no idea how much the encouragement, prayers, questions, financial support, and wearing my shirt means to me. The faith you all have in me and the trust you have that I’m following the Lord’s will is what contibutes to my excitement! THANK YOU and God Bless!!!
