It is 11:34pm and we have just checked in to the Sleep Inn Hotel. Our first hotel of the trip, thanks to everyone who has housed us (and fed us and listened to us…).
This trip has been awesome, it has been great to see my brother, Jason, and his wife, Kristen, and my nephew Mikey.
We also visited my former manager and good friend Marie and her husband Chris Bagin. The Bagins had a lot of good ideas for us for our future and lent us a pile of books, so thanks again guys, and thanks for letting Sequoia in the house.
Then we spent time with the Barnes family and some of the AIM community. It was really good for us to reconnect and talk about the past year. We weren’t sure if we would continue our relationship with AIM in the future but knew we needed to head to Georgia and figure that out. After spending three days with Seth and Karen and their family and all the people at the office we realized how much we respect and appreciate everything that is going on over there and that God really is in it. We also appreciate how real everyone is, so it was a good visit.
We left Gainesville this morning and drove 5 hours to Nashville and had dinner with Jeff Goins and his new wife Ashley. It was a great time reconnecting with Jeff and great to meet Ashley. I know God is going to bless their relationship and their future.
After dinner we drove 3 hours and are now 10 miles outside of Gatlinburg. I am looking forward to seeing the wax museum tomorrow. Big fat Borat “NOT!”. Jeff suggested going to a shark exhibit, but I might just sleep in, workout, eat, and get the tires rolling into the Smoky Mountains instead.
Tomorrow night we visit Linnea’s aunt and uncle and then I am not sure how the schedule looks. Maybe go see Tana Turner, who was on our team this past year. Then swing north and visit more friends and family, or just back track and see Marie and Chris and my brother again, it was so much fun the first time.
