I am sitting indian style on my therma rest, trying to shake the cobwebs out of my head and trying to make my eyes focus. Sitting on the floor of a church in Lima, Peru. This week has been a total blur. We had our debrief at camp Allegre on Lake Nicaragua, Tuesday until thursday morning, then we left on a bus and took Copa Airlines, with a stop in Panama city, Panama, then to Lima.

While standing in line for customs, I heard a woman start to make weird noises. I looked over and she was making gutteral noises and shaking her hand above her head. It looked like her eyes were not focussed and then she started making a circle, just stumbling around looking drunk, and I realized this was not tourette’s or cerebral palsy, so I headed over. Another guy grabbed her left shoulder and guided her as she went to her knees, I managed to grab her head and right shoulder and we adjusted her to her back as she seized. Kari Pitardi (who is a paramedic) from the A team showed up then and put a fleece jacket under her head. Then Amy Morris (who is a nurse) from Team Zeo came over and they took over, as I kept kneeling and watching, trying to understand what was going on. I had never seen a seizure like this before, and I still don’t know if she is ok, we left when the ambulance guys showed up.

We got through customs with no problem, and met the Cooleys. I met the Cooleys at the Staff Conference and they were also at training camp. They are from Connecticut and are down here with their daughter Kelsey, who is about 20 years old. We also met Ed who we will be working with in the mountains. The A team will be staying in Lima, with the Cooleys, and we will be heading to the mountains with Ed tonight. We leave this church at 8pm, and will catch the 1030pm bus into the Andes, and arrive at our location at 830 am. We will be shopping for cold weather gear tonight, as in my wisdom, I helped Linnea leave her nice sleeping bag home, because I didn’t think we would need such warm stuff.

We will also have some meetings today to find out more information, and a quiet time to hear from God. I also have a pile up of blogs in my head and need to sort through that before heading into the mountains.
