OK I rebuke irritation and frustration.  My Manna II blog, I just wrote, and when I finished writing Utupampa, I saw that there was no Manna II on the list.  So here we go again.

The Quechua love to give gifts.  So does God.  The Quechua also love to receive gifts, so do I.  I believe God also loves gifts, but mostly he just wants us.  That is another tangent.

We were walking down the street, and by down, I mean about a 30 degree angle.  A taxi pulled up next to us, the man asked for a bible.  He wanted to buy one, but we didn´t have one to give.  We prayed with him and went on our way.  We told him we would get him one, and he has received one.

We bought 20 bibles and as we give them to the hungry, we see they are so intimidated by this big book of mysterious words.  These words that only the educated can understand.  That only priests and pastors are worthy of reading.  LIES!

So we give the bibles.  We personalize them in the covers.  We explain the bible.  We explain how amazing it is that 40 authors over a span of more than 1500 years wrote a book which tells the story of the alpha and omega.  The beginning and the end.  Creation to judgement to heaven.  Jesus.  Truth.

We explain the old and new testament.  The old is a story of a people living without the savior.  Life with God with out a savior.  Hoping and waiting for the messiah.  The new testament is the story of the messiah, how we can live in relationship with God.  Friends with God.

We teach how to look up verses.  Book, chapter, verse.  The table of contents.  Verses of salvation and hope.  Verses of Gods love for us.  First loved to love.  (Mark Fee, your influence is being felt in the Andes).

Archimedes when he discovered how to check the kings crown for the content of gold.  EUREKA!  They have found it!

JOY.  On the faces.  Like the lights have come on.  Truth in a life.  I am a man who needs immediate gratification, and this is it.  Manna for the hungry.
