One morning, we got up early to g0 meet people in Utupampa.  People head out to their fields really early, so I went with Rodolfo, our translator, and we walked around.  I was feeling really lazy and had a stomach ache because I was afraid of the squatty potty.  (more on that later)

So I met a man that was my height (which is rare here, I bump my head a couple times a day in doorways), and we basically small talked.  I met him again later, and I small talked with him again, he had some bible questions, and I answered what I thought.  He said his eyes were getting bad, so he could not read his bible.  I told him if he came to church that night, I would have a bible for him with larger print.  He showed up in church that night.

In church, Shawna preached, and after  that we prayed for people, and we prayed for this man Alfonso, for his eyes.

He came back the next day and said his eyes were healed.

He came back the next day, and after the service, Pastor Marino, said Alfonso wanted me to pray with him, because he wanted to repent.  I didn´t know what he meant.  I went up front, and they threw a pillow on the ground in front of me, it seemed they wanted Alfonso to kneel and pray, with me standing in front of him.  Here there is so much catholic background, that the religious spirit is very strong.  So I guess Alfonso thought he needed me to come between him and God, I guess like a priest.

I stood next to Alfonso, and told him it was only Jesus and his grace and mercy and forgiveness.  That God already knew his heart, and I will pray with him and help him to say a prayer, but it had nothing to do with me, but I was honored to stand next to him as a man.

The next day, Pastor Marino came and asked if I knew a woman named Haidi, and her daughter Sulima, from Tumpa.  I said yeah, they were the ones we met who were washing the spinach, who came to Jesus, and who served us Cuy two weeks ago.

It turns out, Alfonso is Haidi´s dad.  Alfonso is also Pastor Marino´s uncle.  I had no idea.  It seems God has a plan for this family.
