So as month two is finally getting underway, and I am now in Uganda. A lot has happened since the last time I have written an update.

After leaving Kenya our entire squad met up in Jinja, Uganda on Monday, we stayed at a camping resort right on the Nile River. There we had a day of rafting the Nile, and spent the time to catch up with everyone from the other teams that we hadn't seen all month. Sharing stories of what happened to each of the groups as we served in different parts of Kenya, and to encourage each other as we process all that God has already been doing in our time here.

On Tuesday we were set to leave Jinja around 9:00am, in African time that means sometime after 10am at the earliest. Then we had to catch a bus from the city of Kampala to Rukungiri were we will be serving this month, we arrived at Kampala around 1pm, and then my team and I had to navigate by foot with our 40+lb packs through Kampala traffic, in order to make it to the bus that left in the afternoon. Well apparently the afternoon bus was full, but there was a another bus we could take that just arrived so everything was set. Then the waiting began…we got on the bus around 2pm and were looking forward to a 8 hour bus ride. Well after a lot of confusion and one bus breaking down, we finally got out of Kampala at 9pm, and eventually made it to Rukungiri around 4:00 am. (Did I mention they were blasting music at full volume our entire bus ride?) Needless to say it was a bus ride I won't soon forget.

Arriving in Uganda I didn't know what to expect, I was not sure how similar it would to our experience in Kenya. So far this is not what I expected, but we have been truly blessed so far. We are staying at the North Kigezi Diocese in Rukungiri, and we will be doing some door to door ministy, preaching, working with children with Compassion International among other things.
