I just wanted to let you all know that I have had a couple bumps in the road this last week. It all started when I broke out in hives on my hands and feet at the end of ministry on Sunday. I couldn’t sleep very much during the night because of the incredible itchiness. The next day, I went to the clinic and found out that I have scabies. For those that don’t know, scabies are a parasite very similar to lice. They are microscopic, and given time will spread to the rest of my body (other than my head). They burrow under the skin, lay eggs, and die. This causes an allergic reaction which becomes very itchy. It’s not a big deal other than the discomfort, and the treatment is very simple and effective.

The downside is that I will miss some ministry until I know for sure that I’m no longer a risk to others. The other bad part is that I have simultaneously come down with a pretty unpleasant case of strep throat (or something similar). I have some raging sores in my throat, as well as several scattered throughout my mouth. It hurts to eat, drink, and even talk. So even though I want nothing more than to make my most of my time in Australia, serving God every minute that I can, I have been stuck in bed recovering for a few days now. It’s a frustrating predicament to be in, and feeling useless is probably even worse than my physical discomfort. I am also supposed to share my testimony with my team pretty soon, which may be a big challenge with my throat in its current condition. I just have to accept that its in God’s hands, and His plans are always better than my own. In the meantime, please be praying for me and Denise, as well as our team. Pray that I will heal, and that God will protect us from any more attacks from the enemy. Pray for God’s provision and protection for my team, and that God will help us to push through these challenges and make a big impact for His kingdom.
