{ team F.L.A.M.E + one male addition }

close your eyes at night, people are there.
wake up in the morning, people are there.
breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, all shared.
we serve each other so that we don’t feel like the only one not serving each other.
you live under a microscope basically 24/7.
all moods and feelings are analyzed.
sickness infects all because you literally don’t have your own air to breathe.
watch constantly what you say, because it’s rare that a day passes without hurt feelings.
Go ahead and surrender your way of doing things or any personal desires, because you’re a sheep now.
You go when & where you are told – everyday.
 when to wake up, when to eat, when to leave the house, when  to excercise,
 when you can and can’t shower, call home, or listen to music,
 & when to be quiet at night for others to sleep.

all of this while trying to accept differences in people AND love them through it.

Community living.
it’s so unrealistic and it has begun to drive me batty.
but I realize the good it has brought to my life.

{ team Salmo 45:11 }

There’s always someone around to laugh, cry, and talk with.
People see you for exactly who you are, in every aspect, and love you anyway.
They call out your crap and praise your strengths.
There is no hesitation to pray for one another or encourage a person in their faith.
No we don’t always agree, but man the things you can learn if you just quiet your
 own stubborn opinion and examine another perspective.
When you’re constantly around people it’s hard to be selfish or stubborn.
It helps you to practice taming your tongue and daily puts your patience to the test.
You’ve gotta be vulnerable and honest, because in this close of corders, you know
 it all comes out eventually anyway.
You learn what it feels like to extend grace, because you know you’ll need it extended
 to you sooner rather than later.
You’re mesmerized by the fact that the same people who make you want to punch babies
 somedays are the exact same people who bring pure joy to your life in another moment.

{ team R&R }

Community living brings out your true colors
your faults. your strengths.
and it gives you a daily opportunity to begin growing the not so pretty areas of your life into things that will  become strengths instead of stumbling blocks for your future.
if nothing else community living is a wonderful reminder that you’re not alone.
we all have problems and imperfections, strengths and weaknesses
and realizing you aren’t the only broken person in this world, just trying to do their best to follow Christ…
