After three flights, four hours of sleep, and overpriced airport food, my team and i finally arrived in Quito, Ecuador! Upon arrival we were greeted by Mabe and Fabe, our home hosts for the next two months (aka the sweetest people on the planet). They remind us to eat all of our food, no seriously, ALL of our food. They are super intentional, conserve anything and everything and make us amazing meals. We are feeling super grateful these days.

My teams first ministry of the race is construction with and organization called Dunamis that takes in woman who have been sex trafficked. We are building a 10 ft wall around a 10 acre property to protect the girls who will be living there. Along with helping the girls recover emotionally from the trauma Dunamis teaches them practical skills they can use in day to day life. I am so excited to partner with this organization because what they are doing is so impactful and dear to my heart. The ministry site looks like a dream I once had. We have a clear view of the city and we’re surrounded by clouds. The air is literally thin because of the altitude, but it also feels like a thin space between heaven and earth.

As my team and I continue to work with Dunamis please pray for progress, strength emotionally and physically, and that the lives of these woman will be radically transformed forever.
