Hey all,
There are exciting, new, and big things coming in 2018, and I’m not talking college! I am going on the World Race Gap year! My passion for missions has grown deeper since my first missions trip to Honduras in the summer of 2016. Sharing the love of God is what makes me truly feel alive! I am excited to see what the Lord teaches me and what I learn about myself. I know not going to college right after graduating may seem crazy, but this is the calling that the Lord has for me and I trust in Him fully.
The World Race is part of Adventure in Missions, and interdenominational missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people in the missions field since 1989. The World Race Gap Year is an opportunity for newly graduated high school students to enter the missions field. We will be partnering with many other organizations along the way, sharing the gospel, working in orphanages, teaching children, planting churches, and loving others.
I will be going to three countries, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Cambodia. I will be in each country for three months, nine month in total. The trip costs $15,800. This includes all team costs once the trip begins, food, lodging, air, land, and sea travel. It also covers administrative, set up, coaching, debrief, and training costs prior to and at the start of the Race.
Although I wish I could stuff you all in my backpack (the one I’ll be living out of for nine months, sos), I ask for your prayer and encouragement as my team and I prepare for this trip. Prayer is powerful and God will provide!

Donating Online-By donating online, there is an additional fee of 3% of your donation total.
- To donate online, you can go to my blog page at savannathomas.theworldrace.org, and click on the “Support Me” link in the upper left hand side of the page and then follow the donating instructions.
Sending a donation in the mail- By sending a gift in the mail there are no additional fees!
- Make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and you must include “Savanna Thomas” in the memo line, otherwise the donation will not be directed to my account. Please mail all checks to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470
Monthly Donating Options-
- With monthly donations through my blog site, you may select a start date and automatic stop date. There is a still a 3% processing fee for online monthly donations set up through the blog.
- You can also give monthly through a website called Dynapay, which you can sign up for at http://www.adventures.org/dynapay. There aren’t any processing fees when using Dynapay, but Dynapay won’t allow you to choose an automatic stop date at the time you set up donations. You have to contact Donor Relations when you want to stop the donations at[email protected] or call 1-800-881-2461 ex 251.
Tax Deduction Information- Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult a tax adviser.
