Jeremiah, what a guy and what a book — as I read it this week I realized one thing, God gives us a choice. God gives Israel the choice, over and over again to repent of their evil ways and come dwell with the Father … He gives them a choice despite their swearing against the Father, and worshiping other idols …. To say, no I don’t want that anymore. I want the Father. I’m sorry Lord, I will look to you in everything from now on.
God gives us a choice, every single day …
This month at home has been hard, I’m not going to lie. It’s been hard to rest, to sit and be still. It’s been hard to say goodbye all over again for another nine months. But God gave me a choice this past February. He told me to Squad Lead, and that is where the choices began. I could choose to say yes and live in the abundance that God has for me in this season of life. Or I could say no and try to create that abundance, joy, and life all on my own. Which we know would not last long. As nothing does when it is born in the flesh.
Things born in the flesh, die in the flesh. Things born in the Spirit, thrive in the Spirit.
Just like God and his beautiful character, He doesn’t scream and yell at us to follow Him. He sweetly says, “I have this for you, will you receive it? Will you come alongside me and see all that I have for you?” He gives us a choice. Always. A choice to love him, to follow him, to obey him. All knowing that what He has for us is way better than what we could ever think of. So yes, it is hard to say goodbye to my friends and family again. But getting to go alongside these guys and gals for the next nine months is way better than any plan I had for myself just six months ago.
What is God saying to you today? What choice do you have sitting right in front of you, maybe that you are afraid to make? I want to encourage you to go, listen to what God is saying and make that choice. The choice that brings you closer to the Father. It’ll always be worth it. I promise. And so does He.
