As many of you know, last night my mom had a stroke while we were at dinner. She was completely unresponsive after being taken by ambulance to Shelby Hospital. After running several CT scans they found that it was not a brain bleed, which is amazing. The stroke was caused by high blood pressure and blockages in her veins (clots). The doctors started her on an IV drip designed to break down all the clots, but because the medicine is so strong, she is at a high risk for brain bleeds. She will be in the ICU for the next couple of days. After that she will be transferred to a normal room. I don’t have any more information as of right now. I will try to update as much as possible. Thank you to the people who have called and checked in on my mom and I. It is greatly appreciated. This has been very overwhelming so please respect our privacy at this time.
