Hey y’all. I decided to write this kinda fun, last minute blog on traveling because, well, I’m traveling today and my flight has been delayed, changed and delayed again in the course of 2 hours! I am on my way to Chicago. This will be my 4th time there and I’m hoping it’s not as cold as everyone says! I’m blessed with friends all over the US, but most of them live in the north, so it provides many excuses to drop my life for a few days and take a trip! So while I’m waiting on my plane Im going to share with you my traveling must haves/ confessions during traveling!
- Must have: headphones. No one wants to be stuck in an airport with no form of entertainment.
- Dramamine(or a shot of some hard liquor): airplane turbulence is the worst, best bet is to find something that will knock you out cold so you can sleep.
- A book: again on the entertainment. This will also give you no excuse to not read that book you’ve been wanting to read for a month. I mean you have hours on a plane!
- A cozy blanket is a MUST have for me. If you know me, you know I freeze everywhere I go, so traveling without a blanket is a no go.
- Toothbrush. Because you should have a toothbrush. Keep extra toiletries in your carry on—you won’t regret it.
- Confession: I have gotten so sick on airplanes that i have had uncontrollable vomit and it has resulted in throwing up on my neighbor.
- I have comfortably slept on airplane floors more times than I can count. While sick.
- I have embraced some of the weirdest people I have ever met in airports.
- I have slept on plenty of strangers before.
- I get low key pissed when I don’t have a window seat.
- I’m always terrified I’m gonna have to poop while on a plan. There is at least 1 time in the air when I just know I’m gonna poop myself. Thankfully it has never happened!!
- I always tell myself to get a sleep mask and a neck pillow but I always forget.
- A good face mask is really good to have for when you get to your destination. You can feel really gross after traveling and it’s great for your face.
- Water—staying hydrated is very important during travel days.
- Leggings are a must have. Do it for your legs and don’t travel in anything else.
- I have been so tired from traveling that I opted to sleep over taking a shower….which i had no had in 3 days.
- Don’t forget a phone charger:)
See you soon, windy city!!
