So. I’m sitting here on the couch. I just spent the last three hours ranger rolling my clothes and putting them into packing cubes. By the way, if you do not know what ranger rolling is, totally youtube it. It will change the way you pack. Seriously.
ANYWAY. I want to thank all of my supporters! Without y’all this wouldn’t be possible and I wouldn’t have gotten this far. And without y’all’s continuing support, I won’t reach my future goals (the next which is $7500 by Dec 18).
Onto news more exciting than fundraising haha. Adventures in Missions is hosting a Ladies Retreat that starts tomorrow and runs into training camp on Saturday! I can’t get to the retreat until Friday, but I am SUPER excited. I don’t have any fear or intimidation about camp…at least not yet. I’m sure the jitters will start soon. Or not. I just know that I can’t wait to embrace each and every one of my squadmates.
Not only do I get to spend an incredible week with these awesome people, I also get to hitch a ride with two of my squadmates and my absolutely wonderful world race coordinator (Ashton, Laura, and Jessica) to Hattiesburg! I am so excited. I am a little overwhelmed. I’m in the middle of a midterm, two papers, the development of a thesis, starting a college wednesday small group at my church, on top of fundraising…oh my gosh the work is never done. But I will persevere. When I get overwhelmed I simply have to be still and reside in God’s presence, which I have been drifting from lately. Not intentionally, no…but it’s been happening. I try my darndest to get my time in His Word each day, but it’s been so difficult in the midst of school and other obligations. I am so looking forward to a week of just filling up with Christ and I hope to be able to create a habit of spending time in His Word and His presence daily.
Now. I’m gonna end this here. You may hear from me Thursday with a picture of my pack (seriously if I’m worried about anything, it is fitting everything into my pack). Otherwise, you will hear all about Training Camp towards the end of October. Love you all! <3
