We see heroes all of the time. In life, in media, in society; everywhere. A common trope for heroes in media is that they swoop in last minute to save the day. It’s great. Just when you think something bad or unfortunate is going to take place, the hero arrives just in the nick of time to turn the situation around! Well, I’ve seen God work this way these past few weeks. I’ve taken a hiatus from World Race things as I helped my sister and her husband with their newborn child as they prepared to move from New Orleans to Kentucky. It has been beyond stressful for everyone, not just emotionally, but financially. The funny thing is, though, throughout these past couple of weeks I am constantly seeing God swoop in and save the day. He has poured an immense amount of blessings onto my sister and her little family through family and friends. They thought they wouldn’t have enough money to move…people came forward and offered to buy things, or they offered money for this or that. And the funny thing is, everything they need, all the finances they need….they’re covered almost exactly with not much at all left over. And it reminds me of a couple of verses:

“…Do not make me poor or rich, but give me each day what I need; For if I have too much, I might forget You are the one who provides, saying, ‘Who is the Eternal One?’ Or if I do not have enough, I might become hungry and turn to stealing and thus dishonor the good name of my God.”
Proverbs 30:8-9

“Here is the bottom line:  do not worry about your life. Don’t worry about what you will eat or what you will drink. Don’t worry about how you clothe your body. Living is about more than merely eating, and the body is about more than dressing up. Look at the birds in the sky. They do not store food for winter. They don’t plant gardens. They do not sow or reap — and yet, they are always fed because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are even more precious to Him than a beautiful bird. If he looks after them, of course He will look after you. Worrying does not do any good; who her can claim to add even an hour to his life by worrying … So do not consume yourselves with questions:  What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? Outsiders make themselves frantic over such questions; they don’t realize that your heavenly Father knows exactly what you need.Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then all these things will be given to you too. So do not worry about tomorrow. Let tomorrow worry about itself. Living faithfully is a large enough task for today.”
Matthew 6:25-27, 31-34

Wow. Just…wow. I have seen God provide last minute with my very eyes. I have seen Him swoop in and save the day. And I believe He used this situation to strengthen my faith in Him. To know that He will come through for me. He will provide for my every need; nothing more, nothing less. And I do not have to worry. Worry does not cause His provision to come any more quickly than He has planned it. I challenge you not to worry.

“Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come. And know thatt the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.”
Philippians 4:6-7

Just a little update on where I am at on this fundraising journey. So far I have raised $1000. I was blessed with a job that only lasted a little while, but I was able to put in just enough to raise my funding to $1000! Praise the Lord! I still need to send out support letters, which I will be working on today. I am $2500 away from my first financial deadline which is due in October, so please prayerfully consider partnering with me financially for this journey.

Prayer Requests:  My sister and her little family as they move to Kentucky, my squadmates as they trudge through their individual struggles, my friends and family and that they may have peace, and for myself and that I just do not worry and can have faith and trust in God and His provision in His  time, not my own.
