Dear Supporter,
I just wanted to send out an update! Since you’ve heard from me last, I’ve been in Honduras, Guatemala, and now I’m halfway through Thailand. It’s been a crazy adventure so far to say the least! In Honduras we worked with AMOR (Aaron’s Mission OutReach) in Talanga, a little town in the mountains. This was my last month as a member of team Intentional Love, and we spent it with team Overflow. We did partnered with their feeding ministry and clinic ministry, and we taught some English as well and did ranch work and construction projects. At the end of Honduras, our teams changed completely. Two people, Bryan Throgmorton and Britt Charles, from my team moved up into squad leadership and I was placed in a new team with five other awesome girls, Megan Brooks, Jay Guris, Jessie Hines, Gwen Debaun, and Taylor Russ.
One major thing I learned between Honduras and Guatemala is really applying the phrase, “Let go and let God” to my life as I had to learn that I am not other peoples’ savior, only Jesus can be that for them. In Guatemala we worked with Morning Glory Christian Academy in San Raimundo, just a couple of hours outside of Antigua. It was a wonderful month spent loving on the kids at the school and we were able to celebrate Mother’s Day for the kids’ mothers (since mothers are VERY under-appreciated in Central America) and we also got to throw a dance for the older kids. During our stay we also got to work on a build with Casas Por Cristo, an organization that provides families in need with a house. It was so much fun getting to see the work God is doing through them and meeting all of the interns.
Now, in Thailand, we’ve been partnered with Phang Nga Church in Kokkloi/Phang Nga. It is located right outside of Phuket. So far I adore Thailand and our hosts. Our ministry here varies day-to-day. So far we have gotten to do landscaping, for both the church property, and one of the church members, we’ve taught English to kids at the school and we will be hosting an English camp this week, we’ve gone on a prayer walk through a Muslim village, and we do bible study with the Sunday School. I will definitely be leaving a large part of my heart here in Thailand. Along with Costa Rica, it has been one of my favorite countries. My favorite food here is fried yellow noodle with pork and a sunny side up egg. My favorite thing I’ve done so far is a tie between riding elephants and getting a fish pedicure at a local waterfall. My favorite ministry I’ve participated in so far is a tie between teaching the older Sunday School class and teaching English. My favorite thing about Thailand is how beautiful the landscape is and the people here.
Funding: First, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for all those who have donated so far and prayed for my funding! I don’t know where I would be without you. So far we have raised $11,608! How crazy is that? Just this time last year I had only $150. We have come such a way since then. I am only $4,642 from my goal of being fully funded by July 1st. Compared to what we’ve raised so far, that is such a small amount. Please consider donating what you can so that I may be fully funded on time. We are already halfway through. No amount donated is too much or too little. Every donation pushes me just a little (or a lot) closer to my goal. Thank you all so much!
Prayer Requests: Funding (not just for myself, but for my entire squad), Malaysia, my leader, Meg, who has a concussion, my teammate Gwen, who suffers allergies from seafood and MSG, that I would continue deepening my walk with the Lord, for safe travels and that any fear would be dispelled from our team and our squad.
Also, here are a few pictures.
First, this is my new team, United Difference (also called ‘UNDIS’):

Then, here is a picture with all of my kiddos I built relationships with in Guatemala:

And last, but not least, here is me on an elephant . . .
