So the count down begins, I've gotten all of my shots, all of my gear is ordered, and i'm almost ready to go. Today I bought my plane ticket to JFK to meet up with the other 46 XSquad members as well as our two squad leaders Garrett and Lauren (they are alum who will be racing with us for the first four months) for Launch. July 11th which is just 27 days away is the big day when we will be heading to our first stop Romania. Ahh I can't believe this is really happening, and it probably wont seem real until week 3 of the race. Oh who am I kidding this entire next year is probably going to seem like one big dream both while im living it and when I get home next year. Like this is such a crazy thing here people. So as I trying my hardest to raise the rest of my funds (I hit my 10k mark thanks to all of you wonderful people who came out to my golf tournament. Leaving me with about 6k left to raise so I can be fully funded!!!) I thought I would introduce you to the people I will be living with for the next year.
While at training camp we were spilt into smaller teams within XSquad. I am on a team with 6 other wonderful women in which the Lord so perfectly placed together. We were asked to create a team name and we went with the greek word for healing. During the time of sharing our stories with one another we saw so many similarities in the work God is doing in our lives. Our thoughts are that God wants each of us to heal. Heal from aspects in life before the race, and as we embark on this journey different things will continue to surface in which we will need to continue to heal. So as we are healing ourselves we hope to bring healing to those we interact with all over the world. Meet Team SOZO! (Bri, Olivia, Kayla, Steph, Kaitlyn and Brooke)
Please pray for us as we get ready to leave. Pray that we would walk in courage as we continue to follow the calling of the Lord. Pray for wisdom and guidance, as we are all out of our comfort zone in this but have faith that we can and we will bring healing. Pray for our support accounts as none of us are fully funded. And pray for the hearts of the people we will encounter. Pray that they will hear the Lords message from us and that they will see and receive our help with open arms.
