At the beginning of this month I read one of the best books that I have read in a very long time, Love Does by Bob Goff. This book is a collection of grand capers full of love and adventure. With each caper that you read about your bones begin to tingle as the hair on your arms stand up and you can't help but think to yourself, "I have got to go on a caper!" All the while you are simultaneously thinking that there is no way in the world you are getting up because you have to keep reading! This book is so good, and if you haven't read it then you should. It has my official stamp of must read!

After the completion of this book you realize how boring your life is for the simple fact that instead of just doing the things that you want to do you get caught up on the minor details or the possibility of a no instead of just going for it! Soon after that realization you begin to make all sorts of resolutions in your mind about how your life will be different from this day on; whether or not those things come to fruition is entirely up to you. But I want to tell you a little bit about how it has made a difference in my own life.

Naturally I have a pretty let's have a good time personality, but sometimes I am too concerned with being turned down, what people will say, or how people will perceive me. At this current point in life my friends are super supportive! They are the friends that when you say you want to do something, immediately they say "ok" and then start helping you. These are most definitely the kind of friends that I want to surround myself with for the rest of my life!

At the beginning of our month there was a possible opportunity for us to be on a Christian radio show. I got really, really excited about this, and was always the one to ask about it. We weren't able to do the show because it was going to cost a lot of money. I was a little bummed, but it didn't really get me down too much. Last Monday, on our day off, we were walking to the local pool to take a dip! On our way we passed a local radio station and I got really, really excited!

Because my friends are awesome we made our way up the path to the receptionist and blurted out, oh so Americanly, that we are here from America and we want to be on the radio! After a solid 5 minutes of trying make the station manager understand that we have no material, we just want to be on the radio he gave us his card and said to call him in a few days.

We left there and enjoyed our rainy afternoon by the pool, but then we got pretty busy in the days that followed. Which means that we forgot to call him back. But that's okay, because now I can say with my friends, "Remember that time that we tried to get on the radio in Mbarara, Uganda?!?!" And then we can all laugh together as we oh so fondly remember all that took place on that fine day!
