We have only been with our contact here in El Salvador for a week, and already I feel so at home. This is most definitely a place that I love, and I think that it might be because it is in this place that God is thoroughly romancing my soul!
I can't really even explain it, He just is; and I am falling more and more in love with Him with every day!
I find it funny too that today is the day that I really see it; seeing as how it is Valentines Day and all.
And can I just say, this has been the best Valentines Day that I have ever had. I have recieved the greatest gift. Today our ministry was to go to a center and just spend some time with people of all ages with special needs. Some of you may not know this about me, but working with people that have special needs is one of my all time favorite things…in the world! It brings me such joy to look into the eyes of a person, that by our human standards has a terrible life, and see such pure joy and happiness….it is one of the most beautiful sights that my eyes have ever seen, and I have seen some pretty incredible things!
That vision is one that makes me want more joy and happiness in life. It makes me want to quit thinking so much and just do, just live, just love; and it makes me want to do all of those things with my whole heart.
I'm not sure why God chose me to be "normal" or why He chose to bring me here to San Salvador with my team, and put the rest of the squad in a totally different place; but I do know that I am so excited for this to be part of our ministry this month, and I also know that these people that have such great joy in life are going to teach me so much!
So in a nutshell, Valentines Day isn't always my favorite, but this year it is awesome!!
