The anticipation, nervousness, and excitement of meeting 53 people you will be living with for nine months, for the first time, is overwhelming. What if I don’t like them? What if they don’t like me? What if they are weird? What if they think I’m weird? Can I be myself around them? Will they be real with me? I’m so excited! I can’t wait! I’m so excited to finally meet my team! These were all thoughts going through my head as I boarded my flight from St. Louis to Atlanta. Once we landed and I wondered around the gigantic Atlanta airport looking for my luggage. I finally found it and headed to our meeting spot. As I rounded the corner of where we were all supposed to meet I knew it was finally time to come face to face with the people I would be serving, growing, and living life with. I have waited months and months for this moment. I was so excited. There they were, a huge pile of backpacks and a crowd of people in yellow, our squad color. Looking back I have no clue why I was even a little bit nervous or why I had so many of these thoughts and questions racing around in my head.
Because since that day, these people who I was nervous but yet so excited to meet have become some of my favorite people. They have become my family. And I can’t imagine life without them. We have become closer then we thought we would a whole lot quicker than we thought. God has hand pick all of us to be together on a team. And I can’t wait to see where He takes us in these nine months.
We have already been through so much together. Some things like:
- Having to use porta potties so full that if you were to sit down you would get tickled. (If you know what I mean)
- Taking bucket showers.
- Sleeping in tents, hammocks, and on the ground.
- Having random dance parties.
- Intense worship.
- Seeing God heal people right in front of our eyes.
- Being hot and sticky all the time
- Growing more than we ever thought possible in ten days.
- Learned who we are in Christ.
- We were pushed physically, mentally, and spiritually more then we thought we could ever be pushed.
- We became a family
These are just a few of the things we did at training camp. And I can’t wait for all the other things we will do together as we travel the world sharing the love of christ. I have grown, went outside my comfort zone, learned more about who I am in Christ, and have grown more spiritually than I ever thought I could.

We are Gap J squad and we are ready to serve the least of these in Jesus name!
DETAILS!
God has blown me away with His faithfulness and provision. And so have all of my supporters. You guys are amazing and I can’t thank you enough. With your help, I have raised the $2,000 I needed to make my deadline!!! So that means I have reached the $10,000 mark!! It’s super humbling and crazy to think about the first $100 deposit I made to go on this trip. I couldn’t even imagine that I would be able to raise $13,805 and in just a few short months. But I put my trust in God and only through Him have I come this far. I knew if it was His will He would provide. $10,000 that’s crazy to me. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful for all of you guys who have supported me!! Whether that be through prayer, donations, or words of encouragement it has meant the world to me. THANK YOU!!

I found out who my team is! There are 54 people on my squad and they break us up into teams of 6-8 people. My team, I will be doing ministry and living with these wonderful ladies and I cant wait!

And these are our awesome, wonderful, crazy, goofy leaders who are going to lead us into deeper intimacy with the Lord. They are going to be with us through the good times and the ugly times. And I can not wait to see where the Lord is going to take them and what he has in store for them as they lead Gap J.
I have reached my $10,000 deadline and I am so thankful. But I’m not done yet. I still have $3,805 left to raise before I am fully funded. In order to make that happen, I am still doing my “Pick A Piece” FUNdraiser! If I fill in the whole pizza I will be fully funded!!!! So every amount helps, no matter how small!
Will you help me eat the rest of the pizza?

The idea is simple: I have the numbers 1-100 on my pizza. You pick a number and whatever that number is, is the amount of money that you donate, i.e. 1 = $1, 34 = $34, etc.
To make this fun you could pick your birthday, your anniversary, your favorite number, your favorite scripture reference, or just a number at random.
If you would like to “Pick A Piece” comment below or message me what number or numbers you would like so I know which ones have been picked.
You can donate at my blog -> savannahbauer.theworldrace.org
Or if you would rather write a check or give me cash you can message me and we can figure something out.
Thank you so much. I love you guys and I’m thankful for every one of you. You are the light of the world. Don’t forget that.
Prayer requests-
Please be keeping my squad in your prayers as we all prepare to leave.
Pray that God would provide money for everyone to meet their last deadline.
Pray that we would all not be too stressed with all the things we have to do before we leave.
Pray for safe travels to launch in GA and to our first country Ecuador.
Thank you so much for your love and support
