KTVs (karaoke bars) are everywhere in Cambodia. You can pass about 3 or more in a one mile radius. We drive by at night- parking lots filled, women sitting in the doorway reapplying their makeup and waiting for the men to come in. After researching about the KTVs, I discovered that many of the women who work in them have entered the sex industry because of declining working conditions in other sectors, and they can earn more money by becoming prostitutes in KTV bars. Young women from rural areas earn the respect of their villages by sending money home. Each time we pass by, my heart breaks a little more because I know the Lord has so much more for them, sees them with so much more worth and has love for them that they don’t even realize. On Friday, we had the opportunity to do a prayer walk, and my team prayed bold prayers over all the KTV’s in our area-

Lord,

Thank you so much for choosing us to be a part of Your kingdom work. Right now I just speak truth and life into this KTV in Jesus name. I pray that these women would boldly step out into the freedom You have for them. That they would know they don’t have to give away their bodies for work but that the truth would set free from any chains and bondage they’ve been placed in and that they can walk fully in the freedom You have for them. Show them Your love for them, that You see them as worthy and daughters of the one true King. I don’t know these women but You know every little thing about them; You created them, so I pray that Your presence will just overflow into their lives. I pray that the workers and customers of this KTV would feel so convicted of the work they are doing. That they would recognize their sin and repent to you, Lord. That they would choose a path that is glorifying to You. That each man and woman would know You have such greater things for them if they just follow You. I pray over this KTV building. I pray for complete destruction over it. That this KTV would be completely abandoned. That it would replaced with churches, schools, and things that would bear fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven. Lord, I know You have a plan so I am trusting You with this, it’s all in Your hands, use me as Your vessel. Thank You for breaking my heart for what breaks Yours.

In Jesus name.

Join me in praying against the darkness that is taking place less than a mile from my home.
