Wow, three months living in Cambodia have gone by. Fast but slow. 90 dang days since I’ve left home. Leaving Cambodia with a full heart and a whole lot of memories and heading to ETHIOPIA for 3 months. Here’s what Cambodia looked like- The most beautiful painted skies every morning and evening. Long, tiring bike rides to ministry but also a whole new appreciation for bikes. Broken bike seats and the “bike doctors” laughing at me a lot. Teaching English in both Christian and Buddhist settings. Singing songs about Jesus to children. Kiddos everywhere from the street, to the classroom, to our front yard. Smiling, friendly neighbors and locals every time we passed by. Sweating a whole lot. Days that felt like 100 degrees and a huge appreciation for fans and AC. All the many tuk tuk rides and our hilarious, hardworking, generous driver, Mr. Sam. Filling up on 75 cent coffee from the pink shack, Green Mango’s muffins, O’chaya, and lots and lots of ROTI. All the interesting smells of burning trash and meat at the market. Mosquitos attacking me in my sleep. Roaches that have made our kitchen their home. Ants that make an entrance in our room at the site of any possible crumb of food. Finding quality time on the rooftop with Jesus. Making cards everyday at the hospital to fund the game program. Crashing weddings, spontaneous adventures, and lots of $2 movies. Late nights with Chhady on the roof or on my sleeping pad. Growing in community, intimacy with the Father and believing true identity. Experiencing the Lord in new ways and sharing His love.
These are just a few things that’ll always remind me of my time in Cambodia. The Lord has been so faithful in His promises. Now as the title says, IT’S TIME FOR AFRICA. For the next 3 months, I will be living in Harbu Chulule, Ethiopia, partnering with Hopethiopia.com This will be a much smaller village setting compared to the city setting I’ve been in. Therefore, I will not have the easily accessible wifi so I will not be able to communicate as frequently as now! BUT I am still fundraising and have about $1,300 left to raise THIS MONTH. If I don’t become fully funded, I will have to return home early and as much as I miss home, I know the Lord isn’t finished working in and through me here!! With it being the holiday season, would you prayerfully consider donating a small amount to help me reach this goal? Every dollar counts and is tax deductible! To everyone who has contributed financially or spiritually, THANK YOU. You are contributing not only to my spiritual walk but also the lives around me because of your generosity. And WOW we have already raise $14,500 together!
God Bless!!
