Lately when I’ve been thinking about the race I’ve been too logical and, worry has started to overcome me in a numerical fashion.

->$17,000 money to be raised
-8 months before I leave
-26 shirts to sell
-$20 per shirt
-$250 the amount i’m hoping to gain in my garage sale

I could go on and on.

I decided to take a step back and just think about what was exciting to me and why I decided to go on the race in the first place.

Top 15 things I’m excited about (no specific order):

1. Snuggling babies
2. Caring for the sick
3. Loving on the widows
4. Dancing in the rain
5. Making memories
6. Leading people to Christ
7. Stepping out of my comfort zone
8. Learning to say “hello” in many different languages
9. Becoming a friend to those in my squad
10. Letting go
11. Seeing children smile
12. Telling people that God loves them
13. Showing people that God loves them
14. Worshiping in extraordinary places
15. Finding my spiritual gift

To those of you whom I call Squad mates: I challenge you to take a step back. Reflect on all we are about to do and just be still. I know that God is going to use us in ways that we cannot even begin to imagine…so take a step back and be excited because in 8 short months we are going to be on the most magical journey serving our King!

Tho those of you whom I have the privilege of calling family or friends: Firstly, thank you so much for your overwhelmingly large amounts of support. Without you, this journey would be extremely difficult. Now, I know you all are afraid of the unknown, but please take a moment to really think about all the good God will be doing on this trip. Take a moment to think about the fact that He chose me and my other squad mates to do His work. Think about those things and get excited for us! 🙂

Because…..In 8 short months we’re going around the world!!!

See you soon:
El Salvador
Honduras
Guatemala
Belize
Burkina Faso
Côte d’Ivoire
Ghana
India
Nepal
Thailand
Cambodia

Be still,

Savanah
