Team Uplift has said GOODBYE to Asia, and HELLO to Albania!!!

But- i forgot to post about one of our best adventures during our time in Thailand….the jungle exploration day.

So the last week of ministry, they didn’t have much for us to do in the afternoons, so we would go on random adventures or do random volunteer work.

One afternoon we got the opportunity to go with a forest conservation effort as they trekked into the jungle to photograph a rare flower that they had previously found.

We later found out that the “rare flower” was just some really dense cactus, but we didn’t have the heart to tell them that. They were utterly enchanted by it.

The men leading our little expedition were decked out in camouflage and face masks with skulls on them (bc guys) and they cut an entirely new path for us with machetes!

Like literal huge swords, cutting down vines and small trees to make a new path for us. Which was pretty awesome.

At one point they told us to be very careful because there were many dangerous animals. When we pressed them further about what kind of animals, we were informed (stop reading if you are easily shocked) that there were WILD rabbits on the loose. Yes, you heard me. Rabbits. We made it out alive, thank God.

After a little while we crossed a beautiful creek and got to explore deeper into the forest where there were draping vines and huge boulders. It was really very gorgeous.

We sweated through our pants and almost got killed by rabbits. But it was a wonderful day!
