Is withdrawal from eating curry with your fingers a thing? If so, I’m having that.
If bucket showers, wearing the same thing an unconfirmed number of times in a row, and eating crickets doesn’t sound fun to you, you’re wrong.
I’ve only been home a day and I’m missing Training Camp desperately. More specifically, the 58 new friendships I developed while at Training Camp.
I went into TC not exactly knowing what to expect, maybe I would meet some cool people…perhaps I would eat some fun foods and go on a hike. Mostly true, but definitely not even close to all of the incredible moments I got to experience.
I admit I was not in the best place with the Lord when I left for Gainesville, Georgia twelve days ago. My prayer life was lacking and I wasn’t seeking the Lord the way I wanted or needed.
Boy, did that change. The staff of Adventures in Missions (where TC was held) are some of the most godly, intentional, and genuine people I have ever met. Everything we did, no matter if it was our work-outs, our meals, or our team time, it was all focused on the Kingdom of God and how we could represent Christ well.
In all we did, it was covered in prayer. In all we said, we were challenged to uplift. In our time together, Christ was always the center. The worship team and the atmosphere they brought was a space that the presence of the Lord was so apparent.
And I do not think I’m wrong when I say that we all left changed and hungrier for more of Him.
Our team leaders were legitimately the most wonderful individuals. They were so intentional in getting to know us, praying over us and placing us in the exact teams that we needed to be in. Our leaders were so invested the spiritual growth of January Route 3 before they even knew who was going to sign up for that route. That’s incredible. Our next 11 months will be incredible blessed through their leadership and training.

Now about my team. I will be with these wonderful ladies for the first couple months of my trip, and maybe even longer than that! I couldn’t have picked a better team (thanks leaders!). I only got to know these girls the last two days of training camp but I already so admire their hearts for the Lord and His call on their lives. I’m thrilled to be able to serve with them and see their gifts bless the lives we come in contact with.

All said and done, training camp is the most beautiful, challenging, exhausting, smelly, amazing, and life-changing event. Go in with a heart and mind ready to learn, no expectations, and the Lord will do a great work in you.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
