We only have about one week left in Vietnam. It went by way too fast. The L0rd has been doing so much this month through our m1inistry and with our students. He is such a good father and its so evident this month.

This month we got to work with C@mpus Crus@des to help teach Vietnamese students after their classes at English clubs. A lot of the students are attending the Foreign Language University in hopes of working in tourism when they graduate. Its extremely important for them to be able to be fluent in English so that they can secure jobs in the tourism industry.

Others are studying Economics or Business, and want to learn English anyways! Which I give them crazy props for because learning English as a second language is HARD…especially when your first language has no root links with it. There are times that we will be teaching, and just have to stop and think about it for ourselves because English has so many rules, and even more exceptions to those rules! It really is such a weird language.

You rock, full time English teachers.

Its quite amazing that these students go to school full time and take more time out of their schedule to work hard and learn a second language. I honestly don’t think I could do it!

We have about two or three clubs a day, at coffee shops, at the park, or even over dinner where we meet the students. Its conversational English so we basically just talk about general topics, help them out with pronunciation, and work on listening skills.

Most of the time we would be at coffee shops, which was just fine with me! Coffee and talking are just a few of my skill sets (LOL).

Vietnam’s favorite coffee drink was called….something I cant say…and basically it was sweetened condensed milk and espresso. I have never tasted anything as sweet and strong in my life. It is the best.

A lot of times we will tell funny stories from our lives with lots of details and then have the students repeat what they remembered. We get a real kick out of hearing each other (trying) to pronounce English/Vietnamese! The two languages could not be more different! We have sounds in our language that they don’t have and they have sounds that I firmly believe that I will never get right! Lets just say that our students were MUCH better than us.

I’m so impressed with these students. They are so much fun to talk to and hang out with. They are all extremely intelligent and so funny; they absolutely make our day every time we are with them! They work so hard and are so kind and patient, I have no doubt that the L0rd will use them in AMAZING ways here in Vietnam. We miss them already and will never forget our time here.

We love you, Vietnam!
