This has been a month of limited internet, so to catch you up on the past month I will post a few past-due blogs.

The ministry I worked with this month was New Light Nepal. It is a 6 or 7 hour drive south through the mountains from Kathmandu and is only 12 miles from the Indian border. When I say drive, I mean 6 of us in a landrover style vehicle offroading on narrow mountain roads with our packs strapped to the top and the driver honking as we round the corners. It was great! If you are scared of heights, Nepal probably isn’t the place for you.

Once we arrived in our location, we felt the hot, humid air. Our wonderful hosts, Uncle, Auntie, and Brothers led us to our rooms. As you saw in our cribs video, we slept in classrooms of the school. The windows were always open, with a screen that should keep out bugs, but didn’t. We slept under a huge mosquito net on our sleeping pads. The guys on the other team were in the mud hut.

When we had free time we usually went to the hut hut and read harry potter aloud because it was t

he breeziest place. We ate the wonderful food that Brother prepared for us at the open shelter. We had tea time every day for breakfast, with the water buffalo milk in it, and then lunch at 9, snack at 2, and dinner at 6 or 7.

School started at 6:30 am so we usually woke up around 5 or 5:30 am. We taught until noon some days, other days we built a wall. I had the opportunity to paint the flag, national flower, and national stamp on the school. We also preached at the church and sang a few songs.

The host family feels like my family now, I love them so much. They were a huge blessing to us.

 Much love,

Saraya
