$1000 Treasure
I couldn’t believe it. As I looked at the words I thought about how I needed to hide it. I didn’t want anyone to know what I had just found.
A newspaper around ASU holds a treasure hunt. They send text clues to subscribers until someone finds it. I had tried before but I hadn’t found it. This time around I was more determined than ever and I set out on a journey that eventually led me to a newspaper box close to my mail route at work. I checked a few places before heading over there after work. I was going to check at a store, but decided to check the news stand first (I had remembered a clue
about keeping up on current events).
I looked in the first one, but found only what was expected, newsapers. I looked in the next one, eyes to the top, and there it was! I grabbed it and placed it in the newspaper to hide it from view.
I claimed it and am putting it towards my world race funds.
God Provides.
This is not where the story ends though.
I found the greatest treasure of all when I accepted Jesus the Christ as my Lord and Savior and I WILL NOT HIDE IT!
It is a gift that needs to be shared, because though no one is deserving of it, all are invited.
We are ALL called to be disciples, “missionaries”, and ambassadors to God’s Kingdom. Be encouraged by what Paul said in Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
