I spent this past week in Georgia and flew back to Hawaii just a few days ago!

View of Hawaii from the plane! Beautiful!

I was at the Adventures in Missions (AIM) office in Gainesville, Georgia for the World Race training camp. Everything felt so dream-like. I kept whispering to Stephanie, “Hey, am I really here? Is this real?”

I love that when you do life with God, He takes you to the most unexpected places at the most un-assumed time while giving you absolute peace.

This is my new squad, Expedition. They are the ready ones. I’m excited to run alongside them on their race.

I was also blessed with time to see a few of my old squadmates from Fusion. I hate that I didn’t take any pictures! But seeing each of them, chatting about life and God like we did on our race was the most refreshing and precious gift.

I spent the last two nights in Georgia at the Dilbecks. Tim and Karen Dilbeck were my coaches on the race. Spending time here felt like taking a break from this world.

Karen got a picture of some of us here. I miss them terribly already. Fusion will always have a big part of my heart.

One thing I continued to do on this trip was asking people what they thought about fundraising. Through these conversations with YWAM and World Race missionaries, who have been fundraising for some years now, I was able to gain a different perspective and better understanding. It was clear that God was moving and providing for them through other people.

As these conversations happened, I saw three main reasons for why I was feeling a resistance toward fundraising.

  1. My independence/pride. I wanted to be self-sufficient and provide for myself.
  2. Korean culture mindset of ‘do good when you can afford it’ and ‘don’t cause others trouble’.
  3. Not remembering. God had provided tremendously before but I had forgotten.

And God said to me,

  1. Not one is greater. Each part of the Church body has a unique design but it cannot function on its own. They have to depend on each other to become one body with One Head. It’s a matter of simply falling in alignment to God’s design for the church. There is no part of the body that can be self-sufficient. Though there are many parts, there is one body. I need the body in order to do my job. In turn, the work I do in ministry is credited to the whole body, not just me. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Colossians 1:18)
  2. Raise up missionaries. This role of leading young missionaries is unique and strategic for the Kingdom. Because this is something I love to do, it doesn’t feel like work or ministry. But it is spiritual work and a valuable ministry. The funding is a physical tool to accomplish the spiritual work. Sharing the vision & passion, and inviting others to join in whatever capacity is a way to strengthen this ministry. Kingdom investment is so worth it! (Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 15:3)

I am so thankful for my God who teaches.

To squad lead 31 young missionaries for 5 months to Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal, I need to raise $3,500
