Hello friends!
In 2015, I went on an 11-month mission trip called the World Race with the first ever Fusion Squad. It was an amazing year of seeing God’s beauty in 11 different countries.
This is my fusion family. (Love you guys!)
We did VBS in More Tomorrow Village, Belize.
We passed out the first Bible written in Kaqchikel in Xenacoj, Guatemala.
We Kung-Fu-Panda-ed at the Great Wall of China on our off-day.
El Shaddai Orphanage in Swaziland surrounded us with friendship and beautiful nature.
Another off-day adventure at Ankor Wat, Cambodia.
Our quiet time on the field sometimes looked like this.
After returning from the World Race, I felt God calling me to my family. So instead of jumping back on the mission field, I moved in with my parents and younger brother in South Korea. It was great to hang out with my family after being apart for so long. During this time, God challenged me with a few questions. “Why do you want to be a missionary? What do you like about the mission field?” I am still answering these questions but I was finally able to see that EVERYWHERE was the mission field. So I said YES to staying put in Korea. Almost as soon as I did, several different opportunities came knocking.
My dad and I as twinsies.
My mom and I as twinsies.
My little brother who I love so much.
Can’t leave out my church family in Korea. (Miss you guys!)
One of the opportunities was Kona, Hawaii and it’s where I am right now! Andrew and Terry are YWAM school leaders for Awaken and they have invited me to stay with them and nanny for their two adorable boys until December. I have always wanted to come to YWAM, so it’s been great to be in the midst in this special circumstance. Some of the things God revealed when I prayed about Kona was that He will discipline me, nurture something new that will begin and provide special fellowship/community.
Beautiful view every moment, every direction in Hawaii.
Jenny and Jon met through YWAM and got married here last year. They are my favorite friends and I believe are the special fellowship God foretold me about.
On our favorite filter – mungmung! Most of my time is spent with this little guy.
In January, I will be starting my SECOND world race journey! This time, I am going as a Squad Leader for the first half of the 11 months. Those who followed my last World Race may remember I was called into the raised-up Squad Leader role the last half of the Race. Through squad-leading, God awakened my heart for discipleship, especially of missionaries. Now I will be returning as an alumni Squad Leader to walk along a new squad. This squad is called the Expedition Squad – we go to countries with low gospel presence (10/40 window) and depend on listening to God for our ministry direction in each country. Here are the countries on our route: Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Nepal, China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Spain, Morocco.
The Expedition Squad is mentored by my previous co-leader and one of my closest friend, Stephanie. When this woman of prayer asked me to pray about squad-leading, I knew something was about to happen.
The World Race training camp has just started in Georgia. Due to my commitment in Hawaii, I wasn’t able to go. But God opened up my schedule and provided funds so that I can attend the last few days! I am excited to meet the squad and the leadership team!
Please continue to follow my missions journey! If you want to hear more, catch up, ask any questions, leave a comment and I will reach out to you!
