Welcome to my World Race blog! To be perfectly honest, I have been dreading starting this blog. The vulnerability of blogging makes me horribly uncomfortable. I had sat down to start writing no less than a dozen times and just couldn’t seem to get anywhere. I have been putting so much pressure on myself worrying about what to write, how it will sound, and what people will think.

Two weeks ago, our pastor spoke about the rise of the early church and God’s mission for us now. He explained that our mission is nothing more than to be a witness to the power of God – to testify to what we have seen and heard. He explained that the church was founded on the simple testimony of ordinary people who encountered the extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. He challenged us, what if what’s holding us back is our tendency to think that it’s all about us? And what if God is just asking us to turn it all over to him and be nothing more than his witnesses?

I left church feeling pretty convicted. This whole time I have been stressing over what to write and focusing on myself when all God is calling us to do is to be his witnesses. So there it is, it’s that simple. That’s my prayer for this blog and for this next chapter of my life. I pray for boldness to be a faithful witness of Christ. I pray that through this blog I am able to honestly share with you how I see the Lord working through myself, my team and the people we encounter across the globe. Thank you for joining me in this journey!
