I haven’t had the courage to sit down and face the feelings that have come with my last week of the race, until today. Today I let myself cry. A lot. I hugged my friends, I praised the Lord with all of me, and I looked my wonderful team members in the eyes as we said “well done.”

Thats it folks. Tonight we’ve officially become World Race Alumni.

The last three months I’ve spent in Asia have been the best three months of my race and of my life. I can’t wait to write more about it.

But tonight is not that night. Tonight I’m going to sit around the coffee table with my race family. We’ve got chips, queso, some wine, and a years worth of stories, inside jokes, and memories to share one last time before we part ways.

We fly out tomorrow, we’ve got two days of flights ahead of us, on the busiest travel weeks of the year, and I’ll land in Albany on thanksgiving morning. I’ll be exhausted, a little sad, but grateful for the hardest, most challenging and most growing year of my life. Every moment was worth it.

And this is just the beginning of an even greater race that’s been set before us. pictured above is my incredible team, The Great White Sharks, on our last night together!
