I just cut open a huge bag of mixed vegetables and poured them into a giant cauldron pot to make something good.

The vegetables are in, the waters in, the heat is on and I’m just waiting for something delicious to come out of it all.

As I stir the pot and lift the spoon to see what kind of vegetable I catch, I’m suddenly surprised by what I see on the spoon.

“Wow beats were in the bag and look at that, sweet potatoes!”

The simple joys.

There’s so many things floating around in there and I know the combination of flavors and texture and colors and spices will all come together eventually with the saturation of water and heat from the fire to make something delicious.

An individual piece doesn’t make it good, but the add on’s and throw in’s. Kind of like community. Kind of like listening and wisdom. Kind of like caring and loving.

The Lord is adding all of these things to my life with water and heat to make a soup only he can make, but it takes time and patients.

Thank you for being patient with me in blogging. Articulating the individual things I’m learning through a blog post has been challenging, but I’m embracing the challenge and sailing on.

I wrote a little poem while in a coffee shop in Banos Ecuador the other week and I thought I’d share. It’s about where I point.

Find me in the box of gold

Buried under the toe

Found, bound and gone

There to know the true told

We are in Quito Ecuador building a new home for a family that lost theirs to a fire 3 months ago. Please pray for this family of 10, not long after they lost their home, they also lost their dad. We are shoveling dirt, cementing walls, digging holes for posts, separating metal, wood and trash from the home remains and more. It’s hard work, but so so rewarding.

Thank you for reading and for your prayers! Please pray for continued clarity in all the big and small things I’m learning. I’m still fundraising and would love your support. If you would like to help financially, click the orange “Donate!” tab above. It would mean so much, thank you. 🙂
