Yes. I am more than halfway through the Race.
Prior to leaving for the World Race, I asked God for a word about what this year would be. What this year would entail.
The word He gave me was FAITHFUL.
Quite a broad word. So much can come from that word alone. His faithfulness? My faithfulness? Faith, in general? I think what He wants to teach me these 11 months is a combination of all of it. The entire word and all it’s possible meanings. What does it mean to be faithful? What does it mean that God is a faithful God? What does it mean to have faith?
Faith means “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).” To be faithful means to remain loyal and steadfast.
Throughout my journey, God has been teaching me what it means to be a faithful daughter of the faithful King and to have faith that can move mountains.
//
As I look back to each month in each country, God has shown me some aspect of faithfulness:
Month 1 – Colombia: Faithful in the little things.
Luke 16:10, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”
Month 2 – Ecuador: Faithful in physical obedience.
Acts 13:2, “While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.””
Exodus 17:11, “Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Our held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
Month 3 – Peru: Faithful, when you feel it not.
Proverbs 28:26, “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”
Month 4 – India: Faithful even in the unseen.
John 20:29, “Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Month 5 – Nepal: Faithful in the trekking.
2 Timothy 4:7, “As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
Rwanda: TBD.
