This month, a few friends from my squad and I are hiking the El Camino, together. We started in Porto, Portugal and are finishing in Santiago, Spain.
We are hiking a total of over 240 km. It’s day 14, and we have less than 40 km to go. We are planning to arrive at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral 3 days from now.
The Camino de Santiago is translated as “the way of Saint James.” Thousands of pilgrims walk it every year — most are on a journey for spiritual growth or enlightenment.
Walking this trail has been quite the experience. Hours of walking over 10 miles a day — time to spend with the Lord, listen to podcasts, music, talk with friends, make many new friends, getting to know other pilgrims and talk to them about Jesus — it’s all been a huge blessing.

If I’m honest, this month my mind has been full of questions, comments, and thoughts for God. especially pertaining to the future. So much has been going on up in my brain that I realized the enemy could be using this as a distraction from what’s happening in the now. The future will come when it comes.
So, I often have to remind myself to focus and be alert and in tune with the Spirit.
Even though I might not have specific answers to what my future holds, I know God has the answers. I know He is holding me. I know He will lead me. I trust Him with all I am.
“My sheep hear My voice.”
With all that said, I am thankful for the time to sit in His presence, enjoy His creation and the people around me while on this Camino.
The end of my journey on the World Race is soon coming to an end — hard to believe sometimes how quickly the time truly went.
That being said, these next couple of weeks, I’ll be pressing into whatever God is still doing in me and through me — making the most of the time, and absorbing all I can, just like a sponge — so that when I get back to the States, I continue applying every single thing I’ve learned while in this season.
//
Be in prayer that my eyes, ears, hands, feet, mind, heart are open and attentive to the voice that leads me.
P.S. I tried to upload photos, but wasn’t able to at this time. Stay tuned.
Soli Deo Gloria
