For this blog I wanted to let you guys get to know my team a little more! These are the people that I have gotten to spend so much time with and know on a deeper level. Each of us is so different, but all love the Lord so much. I have loved spending time with each of them and cannot even imagine how close we are going to be by the end of the nine months. I asked them all the same seven questions and here’s what I got…

  1. What’s one thing you wish you had known before coming to Swaziland?
  • “That we weren’t going to have electricity.”
  1. What’s one thing you wish you had brought?
  • “More books, an external hard drive or another skirt… oh or a sweatshirt.”
  1. What’s one thing you wish you had not packed?
  • “One of my skirts… I think I did a pretty good job of packing!”
  1. What do you miss most about home?
  • “My friends and my brothers and coffee and the beach.”
  1. What is the top thing that the Lord has been teaching you in Swaziland?
  • “How to sacrifice things.”
  1. What is your favorite part about ministry in Swaziland?
  • “Our shepherd, Bongiwe.”
  1. If you could describe Swaziland in one word, what would it be?
  • “Slow.”

 

SOPHIE:

  • “That I will never be clean.”
  1. What’s one thing you wish you had brought?
  • “More clothes.”
  1. What’s one thing you wish you had not packed?
  • “My tent, my small packing cube of medicine, and five toothbrushes.”
  1. What do you miss most about home?
  • “My clothes… and my friends and driving. And cinnamon buns.”
  1. What is the top thing that the Lord has been teaching you in Swaziland?
  • “Be slow, be patient… You’re in the valley.”
  1. What is your favorite part about ministry in Swaziland?
  • “The kids and the Gogo’s laugh.”
  1. If you could describe Swaziland in one word, what would it be?
  • “Unpredictable.”

  • “It gets cold here.”

  • “My favorite sweatshirt.”

  • “My tent… I’m a very good packer.”

    • “Brie cheese and my sister… in that order.”

    • “That my identity is in Him alone.”

    • “My Chacos and my flannel.”

    • “A refrigerator, long rides in my car, my horse, my morning routine, and long hikes.”

    • “Hearing His voice and that I am not fully walking in the freedom that He has for me.”

    • “That there is no way to get rid of all the dirt and that hour walks to ministry are a thing.”

    • “Ground coffee, more than one notebook, Converse, and my polka dot pants.”

    • “My tent and quick dry towel.”
  4. What do you miss most about home?
    • “Coffee from coffee shops, everything about Autumn, and family and friends.”

    • “Trust, identity, and worth.”

    • “Watching the kids run to us as we arrive at our care point.”
