Our first 3 days here started out heavy. Aside from the sudden cold and cloudy weather, we we’re thrown into the streets to evangelize. It was no sissy beat around the corner type of stuff either, this is the real deal. Each team was given a translator, a small pep talk, and a big prayer. Full of fear and a spirit of obedience we set out.

Everyday we wake up, have breakfast, read the Bible, then worship as a squad. Raul (our ministry host) has us pray over different projects and finally we go out in groups around the city. God placed it on my heart to pray over the city as we walked so everyday I would do that on our way to and from wherever God led us. Our team specifically goes to the park everyday and split into even small groups so that half could share the Gospel and half could pray for those speaking and then we just trade roles throughout the day and sometimes people come talk to us when we’re praying so we end up evangelizing anyway.

We have had lots of great conversations and planted lots of seeds (as in letting people know about Jesus and letting them think about how that impacts their lives). I have done this on my Campus back home a couple times, but the Lord really made this a lot easier than normal. Don’t get me wrong though, its still pretty daunting, but God seriously has been working. But when God moves, so does Satan. What a jerk.

One day I went out not feeling the best and I had these thoughts that I could easily stay in bed sick and it wouldn’t matter if I went out to evangelize, however, I decided to join everyone else.

At one point I was walking with Brittany without a translator and God lead us to an area away from everyone and we asked that He would help us to find more English speakers. We asked a man(George) if he spoke English and at that moment a woman (Anda) heard us and became a translator for us as well as joined in the conversation. They both proclaimed to be Orthodox and the Holy spirit prompted us to ask a lot of hard questions that they couldn’t always answer. While we were talking another guy walked by who spoke English and wanted to know what we were talking about (He was concerned that we were Jehovah Witness. Haha). Brit was able to take him aside and pour truth into his life while God was using me in the other conversation.

During this conversation my vision became very blurry like I was going blind. The rest of the time talking felt like a really intense dream that I couldn’t wake up from. Have you ever had that dream where you try so hard to see, but your vision is really cloudy? That’s what it was like. I was super freaked out, but I prayed and pushed on. At the end of our conversation I prayed over the two and my vision was clear again. I then joined the other conversation with Britt.

We didn’t see any direct result from these discussions, but I know that the Enemy didn’t want us to be sharing. And in that moment where I couldn’t see God showed me what these people are going through spiritually. They can see some truth, but they are blind to a lot of it. They think they know about Jesus, but they don’t see how He actively works. My prayer for them is that their eyes be opened to see the truth.

On my walk home (I had to leave early because my head began feeling like I was hit with a bat) I had to slow down and at one point I stopped and Jenn prayed for me and in her prayer she said something about how the pain was causing me to stop praying. And it was. Everyday I had been praying as I walked home, but my focus was lost in the pain of my head and the sudden nausea . When we got back, a third person prayed over me and the pain didn’t leave until he prayed away any spiritual attacks. I got a headache again after I took a nap, but it was totally chill compared to the migraine and went away with some medicine.

Finally the following day a huge and scary thing happened to one of our translators. The same Brittany in this story put it all into words that I couldn’t have done better. Read it here so you can better pray for this family. (The mother and sister are soon to be released from the hospital, but prayer is still needed)

*Prayer: Tuesday is when our team ministry began and we got to meet some of the teens we will work with this month in Mihalt. So please be in prayer for our continual guidance and obedience. Pray the Holy spirit would speak into the lives of those we talk to this month louder than the enemy. And finally pray for a clear view of the truth among these people.

*Fundraising: I am only a few thousand away from reaching that final goal! If you feel like you want to support me, just click on that orange ‘donate’ button on the top of the screen and/or pray for this last bit to come in!
