Hello!
I promised in my last update I had some exciting news to share with you, and here it is!
I‘m going to be leading a World Race Semester’s trip and I leave in just 19 days!
Here‘s a little bit of the story of how I got here.
At the end of month 3 I heard the Lord tell me that He wanted me to squad lead. I sat with Him the next month and daily surrendered that to Him, every. single. day. knowing the timing for me to lead would “only work” if I were to be raised up during our month 5 to finish the race leading my own squad. When I wasn’t raised up I was left confused & fearful. But again, sat and surrendered it to Him. As my Race progressed, especially in Asia, I walked through some really tough stuff that led me to thank the Lord over and over again He hadn’t placed me in leadership for that season. When the desire to lead began to grow in my heart again towards the end of my race I sat with Lord for weeks, unwilling to turn left or right without His say, learning what true submission and obedience looked like. It’s with such joy, excitement, and absolute gratitude that I get to share with you His direction led me to lead a WR Semester’s trip to Cambodia and Thailand this fall. I’ll be spending 3 more months in the field leading a small group of women in Asia, the very place on my race where I was most thankful I wasn’t in leadership. Full circle am I right?
So what does that mean?
My role this round is a bit different than last time. I will be discipling, loving on, and exhorting the team as well as participating in ministry with them. The Lord taught me so many things this past year that I’m excited to get to give away to these women. He’s already been showing me some things for them and I am SO. EXCITED. My team will be approx 8-12, 18-22 year old women, and we will be serving together in SE Asia for 3 months. This trip functions similarly to the 11n11 trip I just finished.
