Last week I took a journey to a land across the seas.
I didn’t go by water or land, I traveled on my knees.
I felt called to bring freedom to people bounded to their sins,
And Jesus told me I should go, that there is a spiritual battle to win.
But I said, “Jesus, I am not equipped to go to lands across the seas.”
He answered quickly, “Yes, you can by traveling on your knees.”
He said, “You pray, I’ll meet the need. You call, and I will hear.
It’s up to you to be concerned about lost souls far and near.”
And so I did; I knelt in prayer, gave up some hours of ease.
And with the Savior by my side, I traveled on my knees.
As I prayed on, I saw souls saved and deprived persons healed.
I saw God reveal His mercy and grace while laboring in the field.
I said. “Yes Lord, I’ll take the job. Your heart I want to please.
I’ll heed your call and swiftly go by traveling on my knees.”
Coming to Colombia I had a child-like mindset as I entered into new communities and culture. God definitely came before us and was already at work. These people I have encountered needed to know they matter and are dearly loved by the Highest King and Heavenly Father. God intentionally moved me outside of my comfort zone and has shown me the importance of being a bridge builder in a hurting world. God has placed things that make me happy and things that make me sad. Through time He will link what makes me glad and use it for what I am best at. While what makes me sad will link to the greatest needs of His people. My memento to leave behind in Colombia is to plant the word of God in others heart in an effort to multiply new believers in Gods task to reach all nations.
Lessons I Have Learned:
Sleeping in an airport overnight in Colombia can be fun!
When God says speak you speak.
You get excited that Jeeps are the local “school buses” into the farmlands.
When He calls you out of your comfort zone that includes trying new foods.
This month I ask that you join me in praying for spiritual and physical protection for believers, for a wise and courageous government, and for the spiritual battle for Colombia to be won in Jesus’ name.
