After forming our community for the last month Courtney, Jenny, and I were talking. We mentioned needing to create a team name and collectively decided on team twelve eyes. (We all wear glasses) But going deeper Jesus had twelve disciples and sent out the 72. Our goal is to be laborers, trust in God, and acceptance just like the people who were sent out. My desire this month is to have clear eyes for divine appointments and those around me. Daily I pray we find peacemakers and can build community, meet them where they’re at, and share the impacts God has placed upon us these past few months.

WOW! It’s crazy how a complete stranger can become a best friend in just a month. Courtney and I didn’t connect until Ecuador (month 2). That’s where our friendship formed and now there’s no going back. On the Race I lived with her for 9 months in some form (days or months). When I am shambley or “the world is ending” typically I can be found in her arms or on her bed. Not only is she a best friend and safe space but also my mother chicken. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have a decent meals. Our system consists of her cooking and me cleaning. This season has been so special for the two of us. As we are beginning to transition into new seasons I ask that you join me in prayer for where God is leading her next. She has a heart on fire for Romania and the Roma community. The Lord has placed a calling back to Romania  in May-June 2020. Pray for clarity, health (emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually), and God’s provision.

Have you ever persistently prayed for something and it happens at the very last minute? Jenny and I have only spent 2 month living together during all squad months. In Ecuador God told me Jenny would play a key part in this season. But after 2 team changes I never got the experience to be on a team with her. Going into our final month of the Race God crossed our paths to not only be on the same squad but the same team. Jenny is a key piece to the Kingdom of God! She is comfortable not being on the front line but loving and using her gifts from behind the scenes. I’m so excited to learn more about her gift in leadership and her heart/knowledge of being a spiritual mentor.  I ask that you join me in prayer for the next season God has revealed to her. Our Race officially ends at the end of August and Jenny will be leaving for an additional 9 months in September as an Alumni Squad Leader. My heart explodes with joy watching her step up to the front line as she shares her heart, gifts, knowledge, and testimony with these 18-21 year olds. Pray for a renewed excitement, processing grief, and the connections God has appointed for her.

Tomorrow we will be starting our pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago. We will walk from Burgos to Sarria and then from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. During our pilgrimage we will process the past 10 months, ask for divine appointments, intentionally seek the Lord, and be in prayer for what is to come beyond the Race. He has promises to reveal about His dreams, hopes, and plans for me as I transition back into a fast paced world. God has instructed me to fast using my phone in order to not miss out on opportunities to ask questions, dream, process, and seek. I’m asking for prayers for growth, safety, and to have open ears, an open heart, and open mind to what the Lord has to say and where he is leading me. My pilgrimage will be long but God brings breakthrough when we are desperate to embrace pain, obedience, and the right perspectives. Here is to a bittersweet month!
