Dear Nano’s critical care team,
I see you. I see your face drop a little when there is a downhill. You try so many ways to ease our fears and fight for her. I see you hesitate to give more or take off.
I see all of your passion for families you’ve cared for and loved. I see your burden of jumping from room to room. I see you try to not make too much noise when you visit. I see you comforting our crying family when we got the bad news. I see you charting on the computer.
You put aside your life for 12 hours to care for a very sick and dying patients. You come into the room with a smile no matter what’s happening. You call the doctor, labs, and pharmacy as many times as necessary. I see your to do list that’s a mile long.
I see you holding precious hands, changing dirty sheets, translating medical terminology, and wipe your eyes coming out of hard rooms. (Like ours) I see you getting the hair out of her face as you put it in a ponytail. I see you giving her the best end of life care experiences.
I see you. We all see you. No amount of goodies or encouragement can fully express how much we appreciate you. Nano and my family wouldn’t get what they needed without you.
Love,
A granddaughter that sees you and loves you dearly for it.
