As a sisterhood, Alpha Delta Chi strives to create an environment where Christian women can pursue God’s calling for them while surrounded by like-minded sisters who encourage you and strengthen you every step of the way. We strive to pursue God’s kingdom across a variety of college campuses, and for the Chi Chapter, we strive to spread the message of God’s goodness and faithfulness to those in the Georgia Southern Community and beyond. Here is an inside look at what the Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Chi thinks about mission work:

Missions is the work of the church, meaning the entire body of Christ followers, to reach across cultural, religious, ethnic, and geographic barriers to make disciples of all nations. This work is not optional but is our duty as members of God’s kingdom. Acts 1:8 says that “every Christian is called to be on a mission in their community, in their country, to other cultures, and to other nations.” Genesis 1:28 tells us that God placed us in a role of representing His claim to kingship over all creation and to bring Him glory by serving and ruling over the physical Earth, and that means pursuing the work of spreading his good news to the ends of the Earth.

Beyond this, James 2:17 reminds us that “faith, by itself without action, is dead.” James is not talking about our salvation, for as Paul clearly states, our salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Rather, James is saying that bearing spiritual fruit and pursuing good works proves the existence of a vibrant faith. These actions come naturally when we merely reflect on everything God has done and continues to do in our life. We will want to tell everyone we meet about the goodness of a relationship with Jesus Christ.

41% of people do not have access to the bible, that is about 3 billion people who do not have access to the truth, the hope, and the love that is in Jesus Christ. How could we not be moved to immediate action when hearing these numbers? It’s time to be intentional about the need to spread God’s love to the ends of the Earth.

It’s through prayer and deep meditation of God’s word where we realize that we are all uniquely created to play a part in the mission field. The foundation of God’s truth through scripture is truly the only thing that will give us a desire to pursue the work God asks of us. Furthermore, surrounding yourself with a Christian community who will encourage you and support you to pursue God’s plans for you is a vital tool that gives us the courage to pursue mission work. Alpha Delta Chi does its best to support its sisters as they listen to God’s call for their obedience to pursue the works He has for them. We are praying everyday that our sisters would be obedient, like Sarah who is doing amazing things in His great name on the World Race. We are so proud of her, and we continue to pray for her strength, safety, and role in the Race. She gives the rest of the sisterhood a sense of encouragement to seek God’s voice which is nudging all of us to a different pathway to pursue the work of His kingdom.
