I remember sitting on my bedroom floor at my lowest point balling my eyes out. I finally caved and asked God “What do you have in store for me next?”. Very clearly he said the World race. I remembered the fear of leaving my friends, family, boyfriend, and comforts of home. There was a roller coaster of emotions between being accepted and finishing up South America. I remember the interview, training camp, launch, and truly seeing Kingdom on earth. One of the best gifts God has ever given me is an international family.
If you give a girl an international family:
You give her a lifetime of memories-
Karson & Eyson came out of nowhere and changed my life for the better. The Worldrace has a saying that ministry is life and life is ministry. They pour out the loving characteristics of God to those they encounter on a daily basis. Our team was there to serve them and help them serve. In an unexpected turn of events, they also served us. Through their simple acts to live out ministry as life and life as ministry, I was able to learn so much. They taught me what it means to be selfless, caring, patient, and adventurous.
You give her new perspectives-
I can’t thank Mabe & Fabi enough for everything they did to shape me into the person I am today. They welcomed our entire squad into their house of servanthood. Daily we were reminded to keep our eyes out for the gifts God has hidden on that day’s journey. Living with them for a season gave me a new perspective on the definition of servanthood.
You give her light into dark places-
The English Club we hosted were gems from God hidden in a dark season of my life. We grew up and live on different continents but my life is different now because of them. Some sweet friendships formed by passing out promotional flyers. I thought I couldn’t make a difference with something so simple but my God is bigger.
You give her a new in life-
Bolivian culture showed me what selflessness looks like. Our ministry host (AKA Dad) taught me what I deserve and not to settle for anything less. The people we encountered helped me build my confidence, pointed out my ambitiousness, and encouraged me to be strong.
You give her a role-
Where do I even begin with Karianna! Back at Launch,I got a Key for the Journey that said BE. Through the months I have walked in roles to BE still, open, transformed, childlike, and bold. God allowed me to share my testimony with Karianna and create an immediate friendship. During our time together we got to hold each other accountable and create a relationship around the word BE.
The past 5 months have been an adventure with Christ and he has hidden his gifts along the way. My sadness was replaced with happiness. My struggles were turned into blessings. My loss has been replaced with miracles bigger than I can imagine. I have received the peace that God had for me. Be sure to continue following this series!
