Let me tell you a few of my favorite things/things I’m so thankful for

– My teammate Ryan thought Anne Frank and Helen Keller were the same person.
– The same Ryan hasn’t showered in 29 days. (He doesn’t stink though)
– I’ve played some very legit basketball games with special needs residents at the orphanage I’m working at.
– I’ve made some beautiful relationships with the special needs residents; Marta, Ada, and Barbra.
– I’ve shared a twin bed with my dear friend Laura for the last month and a half.
– The sweet time I get to spend with Jesus.
– Learning what it looks like to love people for exactly who God has created them to be.
– I’ve had some crazy dance parties, that last for hours, with the residents. The only songs we dance to are Silent Night and Joy to the World in Spanish over and over again.
– Living in community and sharing everything.
– My team, they make me laugh so hard. I love them so deeply.
– I’m also thankful for laughter. I live with 30 other people and everyday someone makes me laugh so hard I wheeze/cry/fall to the ground.
– My squad leaders, Andrea and Esther. They are so genuine and they lead so well, and they are my friends.
– I’m so thankful for worship. Jesus meets me where I am every time I come to him with a pure heart of worship.
– The little dash hound that “protects” us, her name is Molly. I throw her as high as I can in the air all the time, and she loves it.
– I’m thankful for the words that I make up and that my team always understands what I’m trying to say.
– I’m also thankful that I can speak full sentences with my hands, and no words, and my team gets what I’m saying.
– I’m thankful that my team knows Spanish so much more than I do. The only sentence that I can say confidently is “Donde esta Abuelita” which means where is little grandma.
– I’m also thankful for Christmas. Happy birthday Jesus!!
– I’m so thankful that I can wear the same outfit for 4 days straight and no one even questions it.
