Some basics for those of you just now dropping in: My sister and I are about to embark an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries across 4 continents. We’re headed to: Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Cambodia, and Thailand. The work will range from country to country in partnership with established ministries in each area. We’ll work in orphanages, build churches, minister to trafficked women, and more. Between the two of us, we need to raise a total of $36,000 by October 2017.
It occurs to me now that I haven’t explained exactly what it is I’m doing. Next October, my sister and I will say goodbye to our home, family, and respective comfort zones. For eleven months, we’ll trek across the globe, sharing the news of Jesus and serving the least of these. Along the way, we’re hoping to meet interesting people, learn how to say “bathroom?” in eleven different languages, and eat lots and lots of strange food. Everything we bring we’ll carry on our backs.
Each month we’ll be traveling to a different nation. While there, we’ll partner with an established ministry in the area. The work can range from taking care of orphans to teaching english to ministering to trafficking victims. It varies from country to country. We’ll be sleeping in hostels, in huts, even in tents.
Here’s a list of the countries:
- Chile
- Bolivia
- Paraguay/Argentina
- Cambodia
- Thailand
- Serbia
- Romania
- Bulgaria
- Ethiopia
- Rwanda
- Uganda

So those are the basics. 11 countries on 4 continents in 11 months. It’s a little scary and a lot exciting. I hope this blog will help you share in the adventure. I’ve been called to this mission not for myself, but for others. At first I thought that meant blessing only people in the countries I’m traveling to; but the more I pour into this blog, the more I’m realizing that this mission is about all of you as well. My friends and my family and the people that just got lost on the internet and wound up here. Welcome. I want you all to be blessed by this journey. I want you to be a partner, whatever that means to you. I’ll be writing a separate post about fundraising later. For now, I’m only asking you to join me with your hearts, your enthusiasm, and especially your prayers.
