My team and I have been so blessed with the ministry that we get to do in Costa Rica. All of our dreams are coming true and I want to share what our weeks typically look like!
Monday:
we do a teaching in the morning and do atl in the afternoon.
(For those of you who don’t know what atl is, it means ‘ask the lord.’ We simply pray and the ask the lord for a specific place to go or a specific person to talk to)
Tuesday and Thursday mornings:
we go to a ministry called Face of justice.
(This ministry is incredible. In the mornings, we go to a safe house in downtown San Jose and hangout with women who are trying to get out of prostitution. We serve them breakfast and love on them the way Jesus would)
Wednesday and Fridays:
We go to a community center called La Cometa.
(This community center is in the slums of Costa Rica. 2 people on my team teach ballet. 2 people teach a baking class. 2 people teach English, and I get to work with the sweetest special needs girl. I get to spend 4 hours a day trying out different things that she likes to do. I get to do activities with her that help get reactions out of her and help her move. If you know me, this is a dream come true for me)
Tuesday and Friday nights:
We get to work with Face of Justice from 8-12 at night.
(We get in a van and drive around downtown San Jose and we serve coffee and cookies to the prostitutes while they are working the streets. It is a spiritually difficult ministry, but it is worth every second that we get to spend with them. Face of justice has built relationships with the prostitutes on the street and they get so excited whenever our van pulls up. It is magical)
This is what my life looks like currently, and I love every second of it.
I also have a few prayer requests as we finish out our time in Costa Rica and the race:
- That my squad and I finish our strong.
- That Face of Justice will continue to be Jesus’ hands and feet and that many women will get out of prostitution because of this organization.
- That La Cometa will be a safe place for people to come and learn and have fun.
- That Jesus will shine through the country of Costa Rica so much that it would change the rest of Central America.
Jesus loves you all a lot 🙂
