Last Wednesday, I was “forced” to skip ministry and rest because I was sick.
I hated it.
I did not want to do it.
I was so mad at myself because it was only the second day of ministry and I was already having to miss.
I also had no idea how to rest.
I ended up spending my time watching the movie Soul Surfer, and man oh man did it have an affect on me.
I saw Jesus in a whole new way just from watching a movie.
Bethany and 3 of her friends went surfing one day and God decided to wreck her world. A shark bit her arm off and every aspect of her life changed. At the time, she had no idea why God did that to her. She could no longer do the things she loved anymore. She couldn’t even chop fruit…
But God wrecked her life and turned it into something amazing.
She went surfing with 3 other people, and God chose the shark to bite her only.
She had to learn how to surf all over again, and now she is a pro surfer.
Losing her arm made her different from everyone else, and now there is a movie about her.
I was crying my eyes out the whole time in the middle of Cambodia because I literally saw how God transformed her life into something bigger and better than she could ever imagine.
I may not have had my arm bit off, but every bad thing that has ever happened to me, every struggle, every pain, every doubt, and every struggle I will have, was and is all God. He is constantly wrecking me and making me stronger and He is transforming my life into something bigger and better than I could ever imagine.
I watched a movie in the middle of Cambodia on a Wednesday afternoon, and my whole perspective changed, thank you God.
