“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its passion unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.”
Song of Songs 8:6-7

Can such love be real? Love so fantastic that death could not quench its fire. Is your love this great Lord? This wonderful? Because of it is anything like this then I could never be a recipient of such love! I am so unworthy, so stained that no one would waste such love on scum like me. It’s wasteful, I’m worthless. It’s impossible, I’m no good. It’s unimaginable, I’m completely undeserving. But to be near that love… to climb the tallest tree to gaze upon that love… oh to just reach out and brush my fingertips against the hem of such love.

Beloved… come to me. Here take this cup of blessing. It’s OK. Don’t be afraid. Look the cup of wrath that was to be yours is spilled out on the floor. And I instead have filled this cup with my liquid love. There is not just a drop of blessing, not even two. It’s not even filled to its fullest capacity. It is in fact overflowing with my deepest love for you. Scarlet and endless. Don’t you see beloved. You are covered with my blood. You are saturated in my LOVE. You are drowning in it. My love has left you feeling so absolutely filled that you will never feel empty again. You don’t have to climb to reach my love. You don’t have to reach out and fumble for the mere hem of my cloak! Oh beloved, you are my CHILD, and my love RUNS to you. Just open your arms to me and I will run into them, and every piece of my love will touch you, and enwrap you, and entangle you, and pierce you, and fill you , and lift you, and flow all around you and within you until nothing in this world will ever satisfy you more than my love, my love for you. I am captivated by you, I am passionate about you, I am fearless in my pursuit of you. I so deeply care for you that death could not separate my love for you. Even if you asked the light around you to become night I would know exactly where you are because I am always with you. You are mine and I am yours and forever I will cherish you as my beloved.
Do not fear my love. Come boldly before me and accept this gift every morning. Walk through each day drinking in the fullness of my love and watch at you begin to love others in a new freedom that comes only from experiencing a love like mine. Come and be satisfied. Drink your fill. For my welol never runs dry.

God speaks to me in a variety of ways but most often it’s through my own journaling. He pours out his own words through my writing and this time he wanted me to know how much he truly loves me. It’s a Sunday school concept but written in a more intamate way and  I hope it gives you a renewed and deeper love for Him as you are saturated in His love for you.
