I titled this a call to worship. It’s a call because everyone at some point in they’re life has failed in worshipping God wholeheartedly or even failed in worshipping him at all. And I get it. Sometimes we’re not in the mood or we don’t connect well with God in worship session or there’s something else your devoting your wholehearted worship to. But God being God never fails in deserving our worship. Because of him we have victory. Because of him we have hope. We are called children of God and we serve a warrior of a king. A beautiful king. So this is a call to our generation to rise up and be passionate warriors of worship whether it’s a hard day or the best day. Because our God is worthy of worship everyday!
A call to worship
A cry of victory erupts from the house of Judah. Rejoicing can be heard In the streets of Jerusalem. Arise and dance you faithful people of God! Pour your hearts out in singing and celebration. Rejoice with joy, lifting your hands up in worship to the Lord of heavens armies. For he is victorious!!! He has won the great battle! He has slain the beast! With consuming fire the lamb has blotted out the stain of sin. He conquered death with one powerful stroke of love. My king has saved us all! Glory to God! The sound of awesome trumpets announces the victorious return of our king! and there he is! As brilliant as gemstones– like jasper and carnelian. Encircled in a halo of emerald and saturated in rainbow. His eyes blaze with fire, his skin shines of gold, his hair cascades like silk as white as milk down over his shoulders. He is clad in righteousness and armed in truth. Clinging to his shoulders is a cloak of zeal. Yes He wraps himself in a cloak of divine passion for he is consumed with passion for Jerusalem. How glorious is the Everlasting One! How beautiful is his splendor! His reign lasts forever and ever and in his light live his people, the holy city of Jerusalem. We are branded with his name upon our foreheads. We are sealed with his love. And here upon mount Zion we stand and proclaim his glory. We cannot hide our commitment to him. We cannot hide the freedom we have in him. We cannot hide the passion he’s put in us. For we are illuminated by the splendor of the glory of the Lord of heavens armies. Yes We are illuminated by his splendor! By his glory! We are the nation that walks in his light. We are the city of truth that raises her hands in adoration, the faithful city that bows down in awe. We are a great choir singing a wonderful new song before the throne of God. Our song is a roar of mighty ocean waves, the rolling of loud thunder, the sound of many harpists playing together. For we do not worship statues made by human hands. We do not bow down before gold images created by human minds. Our worship is for the one true God. For our Jesus that sacrificed himself to be brutally beaten and nailed to a post for me and for you and you and you. So we will not hold back our praises and our passion. We will sing until the earth trembles with the might of our voices and until the heavens shake with angelic rejoicing! For we, the chosen people, the city of Jerusalem, are the city of the God of angel armies. We have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. No, we have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. As Christians we are citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem right now! This is who we are and this is the hope we have! So don’t be a generation that settles for an ordinary life. Because life with Jesus is anything but ordinary. Do not be a generation that is attracted by strange new ideas. For our strength comes from Gods grace, not from useless rules that belong to this world. And do not be a generation that is easily shaken! Take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for you feet. For a time is coming when God will shake both earth and heaven and when this happens only the unshakeable things will remain. But have no fear children of God. We are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. For we have built our future on a solid foundation that can never be destroyed. We are receiving a kingdom that is unshakable!! So let us thank God with praises! Let us respond by worshipping him with holy fear and awe! Because our God is a devouring fire!!!
