To my Tribe: this is a letter for you guys
Ive been praying for you guys. Months before knowing who you are and before getting you guys on my team. I’ve prayed for you.
It’s not a secret that I’m not perfect. I’m forgetful and sometimes out of touch with people and with the Lord. I’ll be straight forward and honest with you. I don’t always pray when I should, read my Bible everyday, or love others the way Christ does. I have my downfalls and things I’m working on. So when I was offered a leadership position, I prayed. Hard. I prayed that I would be the best conduit for the Lord. I prayed that He would give me all of the love, wisdom, patience, and grace to be able to lead and love y’all well.
When we got split into teams I was a little bummed at first because it meant our squad wouldn’t all be together, but the Lord asked me to pray for you guys as my team. He gave me insights to what He has for us in the coming months and I’m telling you, IT IS GOOD!
The Lord gave me a word to describe all of us: Tribe
I remembered back to my PSL when tribe was mentioned in a session for the group of people you are close to but not necessarily family with -they aren’t in your inner circle. So I continued to ask the Lord for clarity on this and I will do my best to explain what He put on my heart for us.
Tribe:
-a vision of a group of fiercely strong women, able to love and encourage each other to do better, be better, and look more like Christ every day.
-More than a community.
-Tightly bound through the foundation of Jesus’s love that you may not always like eachother and get along, but through His love you work through the tough times to push yourself and each other to build more characteristics of Christ.
-A group of people who builds a space to be vulnerable, to practice kindness and grace, keeping things within this circle, to grow and help to build eachother into the best versions of them that God made you to be.
-A beautiful support system of sister in Christ who celebrate life’s lows and highs together.
*so basically the tribe the Lord has envisioned is our group, all of us individual and unique bringing something different to the table and therefore strengthening each other in those different areas. We are bonded together by the fact that the Lord has put us together. As a tribe out in the wild you depend on each other for survival and for life. You are strong together because you all make up the tribe, if one person is down or missing we are all down. We have outside family and friends and those relationships are so important and the tribe relationships don’t overpower or out rank them. But there is a unique relationship built within tribes. (Hopefully y’all understand a little bit of what I’m putting out there)
Here are some other insights to what the Lord and I have been talking about for this group:
Some things I want to pass on:
-strong foundation
-the love of Christ
-leadership
-integrity
-humility
Things I want you to get out of this group:
-people who always have your back
-encouragement
Encouragement and the support to be your best self
-challenges (the good kind even if they don’t seem like it at the time)
-love
-a place to be fully you and to truly journey with the Lord in this sculpting season
-to know that you are strong and beautiful warriors for the Kingdom
-a heart for the Lord’s people, and eyes to see them the way God does.
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop there cause this is just the beginning of what the Lord has for us in the next couple of months. I haven’t even scratched the surface. Oooo. God is so good.
See you guys real soon!
